Cardiff and Vale UHB are keen to create a culture where opportunities for people to develop their skills, experience, education and qualifications are explored. Education and work pathways are provided which can be flexible and suit people who want to add value to the organisation through learning and working on the job.
Apprenticeships are seen as an opportunity to meet this aim through maximising the potential of the workforce by engaging with experienced staff, so that they pass on their skills and experiences to others and support learning opportunities at all levels. The aim is to ensure that staff are skilled to provide the very best patient centred services.
Apprenticeship opportunities will be grown over the next 3 years in traditional areas such as estates and crafts and also to broaden to essential support functions of housekeeping, catering, IT, HR and Finance as well as to support clinical areas in nursing, clinical administration and central servicing areas.
