Why Pledge?
By making a pledge, your organisation joins a growing network of partners committed to:
- Inspire ambition and raise aspirations - Help children and young people realise the possibilities for their future by connecting learning to the world of work.
- Create meaningful employer engagement - Offer a range of experiences that bring careers to life and build the skills needed for the jobs of tomorrow.
- Advocate equity and opportunity - Support those who need it most to access pathways into education, employment, and training—ensuring no young person is left behind.
What Can You Pledge?
Your pledge can be big or small — every action counts. Examples include:
- The What's Next Award (A work experience programme that connects Year 12 pupils with tailored placements aligned to their interests and career goals)
- Supported Internships (A tailored supported work experience programme for pupils with Additional Learning Needs, Care Experienced and those Educated Other Than at School)
- Business Forums (A termly forum where secondary schools and employers collaborate to shape impactful careers education & outreach activity for young people)
- Industry Connects (A programme of employer-led activities across the academic year to connect secondary school pupils with the world of work)
- Open Your Eyes Week (A city-wide virtual event where employers deliver inspiring, interactive workshops to help year 5 & 6 primary pupils explore the world of work)
- Shape My Street, Shape My School (A partnership across the academic year turning pupil ideas into built realities, linking learning with the built environment, architecture and construction industries)
- Mentoring (Monthly 1 hour mentoring commitment for Year 10 students via 1 Million Mentors)
- Support with Social Value and/or Corporate Social Responsibility delivery
- Connect with schools to offer Careers and Work Related Experiences
